Gym News

2015 is nearly over…how did that happen? It’s been a busy year with plenty added to the club. Despite the winter weather our outdoor workout area which we built at the beginning of the summer is still having some use and we are looking forward to some sunny days and to spring when it arrives.

Our new range of dumbbells has been well and truly bedded in to the club and has created more space now they are on a single rack.

Our new cross trainers are popular, a little more resistance than our old machines and now incorporate an upper body workout too.

The deadlift platform has revolutionised deadlift techniques! Sam has been giving plenty of instruction and we’ve had some great accomplishments by members learning to lift and improve their personal bests.

At the end of the summer we began our GP Referral Scheme. Sam is our scheme co-ordinator here and manages the 12 week program. It involves an initial assessment, mid and end term assessment and specialist exercise programming. All results are reported back to the GP. We’ve had a good pick up from the local surgeries and ongoing membership after the scheme. Great work Sam.

Our in-house personal training is developing. Both Sam and Onkar offer £15 sessions to members for additional one-to-one training (outside of your normal inclusive exercise programming, help and advice as part of your membership) and £20 to NON-members. We intend to push this to make personal training more affordable.

We can’t avoid the fact that Christmas is less than a month away. We only close for Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Years Day. We will post up our festive opening hours at the beginning of December.

Looking forward to the holiday season and the new year resolutions!

See you in the club soon.
